When the idea of a digital archive for National Pop League first arose, it was imagined as a collection of memories; no single voice could tell the story of NPL. The National Pop League Archive is not an exercise in nostalgia, but a tribute to everyone who made it dance. The playlists…the badges…the fanzines…the sweets are central to the collection, but it needs voices to give it life.
In the coming months, we’ll share our plans, discoveries, and progress in faithfully documenting the phenomenon that was Glasgow’s favourite club night. Can you share your enthusiasm and memories?
If you’d like to record an oral history interview detailing your experiences at Pop League, or have photos and mementos to share, please get in touch.
We promise we won’t make you eat the candy.
